Schafskäse postponed

We had to delay the vernissage (and the beginning, duh) of our exhibition for a week. All is fine and well, but we want your ass at our vernissage.

The Arakolektif (I talked about it before) are having an exhibition, starting next week. If you are in Istanbul, you should come and if you know someone in Istanbul you should tell them to come, because we do cool art and stuff.

The exhibition will take place at Kooperatif (adress on the flyer).

Tomorrow is the first apperance of Ara Kolektif in public. We worked on two performances. I am in the costume-performance group, sadly I have no idea what'll happen within the other performance because I was so consumed by the costumes. (I heard it'll be great and I trust these people.)

Altogether we worked on four costumes, I made the two you see above. The prupose of the costumes is that you should move differently in them due to the costumes limiting certain parts of your body. The top, for example, makes it nearly impossible to use your hands and you're always stepping on your sleeves. The pants (which I'm wearing as an overall (nobody uses that word anymore, why is that?)) are so long that it's very hard to walk and they will always get loose. Additionaly we have a hat that's so heavy your head falls to the side and a collar that makes you look up all the time.

We're going to wear the costumes at Contemporary Istanbul tomorrow.

Degen is a very new Label. All the bloggers probably already told you about them (they presented at New York Fashion Week a couple of days ago and bloggers loooove NYFW), but you know me. Always a bit lazy and behind. You also know that I don't talk about labels very often. Only when I really, really, really, really like them. I really, really, really, really like Degen, so much that I'd love to buy myself a couple o' things, but I dunno where to get them. They haven't released their onlineshop yet, I think. I'm not sure. But you can see for yourself, on their homepage. You should also have a look at the Lookbook for SS12.

Talking of Fashion: Imma go to London Fashion Week. And no! I am not important! But I have a University and we have a teacher and she's important, or something like that. When I'm there I'll confess Susie Bubble my infinite love for her style and blog and if I meet Tavi I'll thank her for this.

Remeber when I made a course at Central Saint Martins College last summer? I met a bunch of very cool people there. I am still friends with a bunch of them and I miss the crowd and they're all amazing. Remeber my friend Markus and his label Raspberry Cheesecake? Well, he's not the only young lad to launch his own label.

My favourite from th CSM crowd (I probably souldn't say that, but why lie?), Roberi Parra just finished his second collection. Both for men and women. And let me tell you, I lurve it!

If you're interested in his first collection, you can have a look at it here, where you can also see the rest of his spring/summer 12, called #11827. But I'd advise you to watch the video to #11827. It transtlates the feeling of the collection perfectly.

I know how technically it's Day #6 but since it was impossible for me to post the other day, you gotta let this one slide. On the other hand I gave you six products today, so you can't really say anything.

City of the famous unsheltered

Yesterday I noticed that I never gave you anything about my trip to Los Angeles. It was horrifying, beatiful and astounding all at once. The first three days I was simply shocked by all the crazy and homeless people on the street. It seemed to me as everybody in the city was either unemployed, a drug-abuser or homeless. Most of them were all at once I guess. Sad as it is, I got used to that and came around to really liking the city.

That's probably because I met so many awsome people! A piece of advice: Never go there without knowing anyone. It's fine if you don't have a car or a drivers license, but know people! I don't think I would've liked L.A. very much without my friends. Also, there are certain places you cannot go alone. And don't ever walk down 3rd street. My friends lived in Downtown, which is mostly like a city of all the L.A. parts.

Check out Getty Center. It takes you forever to get there by bus but once you're there it's pretty cool. Make sure to be there at sunset. Once it's dark you can see all the L.A. citylights and the Downtown skyline with all the smog is so very beautiful.
